Polymers used to produce pallet stretch film include metallocene polyethylene (mPE), PE-LLD, PE-LD, EVA, PVC, and in special cases, polypropylene copolymers. These materials can be blended or co-extruded in various proportions to obtain the most desired pallet stretch film performance. PE-LLD is welcomed in many fields because of its excellent tensile strength, elongation at break, shear resistance and puncture resistance.

Most high-performance pallet stretch film contain PE-LLD. Traditional PE-LD is the second common resin, but its dosage is limited at present. EVA has very good tensile properties, usually using EVA with vinyl acetate content of 3% - 12%. Compared with polyolefin, the stress retention of PVC is poor. After 16 hours, the stress retention of polyolefin is about 65%, while that of PVC is only about 30%. PVC pallet stretch film is not used in China.

At present, the main raw materials for pallet stretch film production in China are PE-LLD, PE-LD, EVA and so on. Most of the domestic products of PE-LLD are butylene copolymers, which can not meet the performance requirements of industrial pallet stretch file, but can be used as hexene or octene copolymer PE-LLD special materials for pallet stretch film. There are few domestic enterprises that can produce them.
